The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye at the weekend unveiled a football club named Dove FC as part of the church’s evangelism campaign to bring the youth out of criminality.
The unveiling held at the Redeemed Camp saw Pastor Adeboye admonishing the players to deemphasize money to the service of God.
According to the GO, if the players are into football to serve God, heaven will be their limited, stressing that if they were truly dedicated to the service of God, the world would hear and celebrate them.
“Winning is not by might but by God’s divine, to be a winner, you must have God by your side,” Pastor Adeboye said.
The Chairman of the Dove FC, Prince Dapo Ajibade said the church is trying to break new grounds with establishment of the team. “By the special grace of God and with the support of the GO, Dove FC will expand to become the biggest brand in the world.”
Prince Ajibade stressed that the players were selected from the six regions of the country and are between the ages of 16-21 with the aim of preparing them for possible professional career.
