“I want to thank everyone who come for this award. it’s a huge honour. I want to thank my club, my country and Africa at large.” Those were the words of Leicester midfielder, Riyad Mahrez after winning tonight’s African footballer award.
Riyad Mahrez had earlier won BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016 award. At the award held tonight in Abuja, Mahrez beats Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Sadio Mane to the award.
