The Egyptians on Thursday night defeated Cameroon on penalties to reach the finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The game ended goalless during regulation time and an additional 30 minutes played to find a winner. Despite spirited efforts from both sides, Egypt and Cameroon couldn’t convert their chances, eventually settling for penalty kicks to decide the winner.
Egypt converted their first three penalty kicks while Cameroon netted one from their first four, handing victory to the North Africans. Egypt will now face Senegal on Sunday in the title decider. Burkina Faso and Cameroon will battle for bronze medal on Saturday.
